Irish Guards Singers

About the Irish Guards Singers

At the moment members of the choir total 33 in number and new members are always most welcome. Among our number we have 3 ukulele players and two sopranos.

Our conductor is John Hyland who is also the founder of the Choir. We are extremely fortunate to have as our Organist and Musical Advisor the very talented James Gallagher.

Apart from the usual round of fund raising concerts for a variety of charities, we also support families at weddings and funerals. We may be invited to big exciting occasions across the UK and Ireland but our local community remains, as always, our top priority.

Our highlights

  • Prime Ministerial, MOD Ministerial and Westminster endorsement.
  • Acclaimed throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
  • The first British soldiers to sing in the Irish Republic since 1920.
  • Awarded for assisting the Peace Process in Ireland.
  • Wonderful fund raisers for charities
  • Thanked by Mary McAleese, the President of Ireland
  • Three recordings to our credit with a further visit to the recording studio in the pipeline.

We are proud to be recognised by Gordon Brown who wrote to use thanking the Singers for their contribution to Anglo-Irish relations. Click to view the letter.
